Assistant Regional Director of Security & Operations

Location: New York, NY

Base pay range: $70,000 $80,000 per year

Children's Rescue Fund pay range provided. Your actual pay will be based on your skills and experience talk with your recruiter to learn more.

Primary Function / Purpose

The Assistant Regional Director of Security and Operations (ARDSO) supports the Regional Director of Security and Operations (RDSO) in providing oversight of CRFs security and facility operations across all programs. The ARDSO assists in ensuring that all facilities maintain compliance with legal, regulatory, and contractual standards while promoting a safe, secure, and professional environment for staff and clients. The position plays a key role in staff training, site visits, performance monitoring, and operational support to enhance efficiency and consistency across multiple sites.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelors degree in Criminal Justice, Security Management, Business Administration, or relevant experience in a related field required.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in security or facility operations, with at least 3 years in a supervisory or leadership capacity.
  • Active Security License, Fire and Life Safety Director Certificate, F80 Fire Guard Certification, First Aid/CPR Certification, and valid Drivers License required.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of facility security operations, emergency response procedures, and compliance requirements.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills with the ability to motivate diverse teams.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and security management systems.
  • Ability to analyze operational issues and implement effective solutions in high?pressure environments.
  • Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Organizational Support and Oversight: Conduct regular site visits across all shifts to evaluate facility conditions, staff performance, and compliance with security and operational protocols; assist RDSO in ensuring consistent application of safety and security policies; collaborate with Directors of Building Operations (DBOs) and Program Directors to confirm alignment with contractual, regulatory, and organizational standards; provide operational support during emergencies, inspections, and special events.
  • Training and Development: Assist in planning, organizing, and conducting staff training sessions, including Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI), de?escalation techniques, ethics, confidentiality, and fire safety procedures; support the development and implementation of professional development programs for security staff; track and monitor completion of required trainings and certifications.
  • Contract and Security Management: Assist RDSO in overseeing contracted security vendors to ensure appropriate staffing levels, professionalism, and adherence to established post orders; review security logs, incident reports, and equipment maintenance records; support facility audits by verifying maintenance of licenses, safety documentation, and compliance files; participate in facility walkthroughs to identify potential safety hazards and communicate findings for corrective action.
  • Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) and Risk Management: Partner with DBOs and Quality Assurance teams to assess facility vulnerabilities and assist in developing corrective action plans; facilitate retrieval and review of CCTV footage; contribute to evaluation of existing security systems and recommend upgrades or procedural enhancements; assist RDSO in analyzing incident trends and implementing strategies to reduce risks.
  • Staff Supervision and Leadership: Provide guidance to Site Security Supervisors and DBOs on day?to?day operational matters; evaluate staff performance; support performance management plans; foster effective communication and collaboration among interdisciplinary teams.


Secondary Responsibilities
  • Assist in the preparation of reports and documentation for funders, auditors, and regulatory bodies.
  • Participate in departmental meetings, inter?agency collaborations, and senior leadership discussions as assigned.
  • Serve as acting RDSO in the absence of the RDSO, maintaining operational continuity and oversight.
  • Support organizational initiatives related to safety, emergency management, and operational excellence.


Other Requirements (Including Physical Demands)
  • Frequent daily travel to multiple facility locations required.
  • Availability for on?call emergencies, extended hours, or weekend work as needed.
  • Ability to lift and move up to 30 pounds occasionally.
