BAR MANAGER - HOSPITALITY DRIVEN LEADER

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES

Bar Program Leadership

  • Minimum 3 4 years managing a craft cocktail program
  • Mix both classic and modern recipes with consistency and creativity
  • Create seasonal and event-driven cocktail menus
  • Maintain high-volume composure while upholding standards
  • Ensure the bar is immaculately clean, stocked, and organized at all times

Team Development

  • Train, coach, and onboard new bar staff
  • Lead engaging pre-shift meetings focused on product knowledge, technique, and service philosophy
  • Build a culture of warmth, professionalism, and continuous improvement
  • Be able to delegate bar prep and tasks with consistent oversight
  • Develop strong rapport with regular guests and empower staff to do the same

Operational Excellence

  • Create bi-weekly schedules that balance business needs with team well-being
  • Place weekly beverage, liquor, and supply orders
  • Maintain accurate par levels, cost controls, and inventory systems
  • Work with vendors on product development
  • Verify guest identification and ensure responsible alcohol service

POSITION SUMMARY

The Bar Manager supports the overall operations of the restaurant through leadership, accountability, and an unwavering commitment to hospitality. Responsibilities include overseeing staff, maintaining inventory, supporting financial goals, and ensuring alignment with health, safety, and beverage regulations.

This is a full-time leadership role requiring a hands-on, service-driven mindset. Minimum 45-50Hrs/week.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

People & Culture

  • Recruit, interview, and hire qualified candidates
  • Conduct timely performance evaluations for managers and hourly staff
  • Lead positively, demonstrating professionalism, calm, and confidence
  • Serve as a role model for impeccable hospitality and work ethic

Training & Standards

  • Maintain all service, opening/closing, and cleaning checklists
  • Ensure training processes are consistent and actively followed
  • Uphold timing, service, and guest-engagement standards
  • Respond promptly and thoughtfully to guest feedback

Operational & Financial Responsibilities

  • Support achievement of annual budgets
  • Maintain accurate inventories and appropriate stock levels
  • Practice strong sales, cash-handling, and cost-control procedures
  • Ensure facilities are maintained and repairs are completed promptly

Leadership & Execution

  • Direct daily workflow and support management in all service periods
  • Uphold compliance with food and beverage regulations
  • Lead with empathy, clarity, and accountability
  • Perform additional responsibilities based on business needs

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor s degree or equivalent work experience
  • 4 6 years of relevant leadership experience
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to thrive in a high-pressure, team-focused environment
  • Open availability: nights, weekends, and holidays
  • Knowledge of federal, state, and local food/beverage regulations
  • Familiarity with industry standards, systems, and best practices
  • Professional, respectful demeanor at all times
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Ability to stand or walk for extended periods
  • Frequent use of hands, arms, and upper body movement
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 25 lbs
  • Must have close, distance, and peripheral vision and the ability to adjust focus

WORKING CONDITIONS

  • Exposure to heat, steam, and cleaning agents
  • Regular contact with sharp utensils and bar tools
  • Moderate to loud noise levels depending on service
  • Occasional exposure to fumes, dust, and airborne particles
