Bookkeeper / Controller - CPA Firm

Controller/Bookkeeper

We are a dynamic mid-sized public accounting firm with a team of over 70 professionals currently seeking a seasoned Full Charge Bookkeeper or Controller level person to join our team.

Key responsibilities include:

• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
• Prepare various accounting schedules and post journal entries for fixed assets, depreciation, prepaid expenses, and deferred income
• Bank and credit card reconciliations
• Payroll processing with third-party payroll systems and submitting pensions as required
• Analyze financial data
• General ledger maintenance
• Maintain, file, and report sales and use tax filings
• Liaison with external auditors on behalf of the firm's internal client, including assistance with providing audit documentation and working papers
• Preparation and review of 1099s

 

Job criteria and requirements:

• 5+ years of bookkeeping/accounting experience
• Extensive knowledge of QuickBooks (Online and Desktop)
• Basic knowledge of accounting principles, reconciliations, and financial reporting
• Mid-level proficiency in Microsoft Excel 
• Excellent problem solving and analytical skills
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
• Ability to manage multiple clients, competing projects, and deadlines 
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work independently with minimal oversight
• Positive professional attitude
• Jonas Encore software experience is a plus
