Overview

The Director, Patient Affordability Analytics is responsible for leading and innovating data assets and strategies for the creation and measurement of Pfizers patient affordability and copay programs. The Director will help develop data and analytical strategies and dashboards that enable confident decisions to implement innovative patient affordability programs and tactics that positively impact the patient journey. The role requires strong analytical ability, business acumen, communication skills, and attention to detail.

The Director will work closely with Pfizers GAV Patient Affordability Solutions Team Lead and GAV Patient Service Analytics & Insights Team Lead, and interact with cross-functional teams from Pfizer Digital, Pfizer Patient Services, Pfizer Patient Solutions, Pfizer Business Analytics, finance, legal, and compliance. The role may involve collaboration across I&I, Oncology, Rare Disease, IM, and on occasion biosimilars and vaccines.

The Director will undertake decision-making analytics to ensure alignment with Pfizer Copay and Affordability program SOPs and policies.

Responsibilities

  • Establish and maintain effective coordination among all stakeholders, creating a collaborative network with key internal and external partners. Seek cross-functional opportunities to improve patient affordability data/analytics platforms.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of healthcare industry trends and recommend approaches to improve operational effectiveness and efficiency of program design and implementation.
  • Maintain systems, databases, and records as defined within Pfizers Copay SOP and Policies.
  • Apply complex data modeling, aggregation and analytics (data quality and stewardship, data structures, data granularity, descriptive statistics, data integration, data mastering, and business analysis and reporting) to inform decisions.
  • Analyze, model, and test business questions using a broad range of data analysis tools; garner insights and present complex concepts visually to guide decision making.
  • Pose business questions that enable data-driven discovery of new insights for competitive advantage.
  • Procure, lead, and apply patient affordability data assets to measure programs, innovate solutions, and enhance net sales potential.
  • Exhibit subject matter expertise on copay and patient affordability data; respond to ad hoc needs of internal partners and take ownership to obtain answers.
  • Enable the Patient Affordability Solutions team to use innovative data assets to uncover insights, thoroughly measure affordability programs, and enhance net sales capability.
  • Collaborate with Pfizer Digital, CMO, Channel Management, Patient Solutions, Procurement, Finance, and other colleagues to set direction and build a centralized data strategy for copay and affordability program data platforms; assist with data stewardship and quality by identifying and resolving data quality issues; monitor solutions; and integrate data sets across platforms for a 360-degree view of the customers experience.
  • Contribute forward-thinking approaches to data integration, use cases, and application development.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelors Degree required; MBA or relevant graduate degree preferred.
  • 8+ years of experience in an analytical role (e.g., consulting, primary quantitative market research, secondary data analysis, forecasting, predictive modeling).
  • Consulting experience and experience analyzing patient/claims data are highly desired.
  • Deep understanding of pharmaceutical product reimbursement processes for medical and pharmacy products.
  • Proven ability to manage complex projects and data sets.
  • Expertise with pharmaceutical and payer claims datasets (e.g., IQVIA LAAD) and copay/affordability data sources (CoverMyMeds, Relay Health, Copay/Voucher data, etc.).
  • Experience building financial models to estimate affordability program impact on gross to net and net sales.
  • Analytical model development and database manipulation experience.
  • Successful collaboration in a highly matrixed organization across multiple stakeholders to drive results.

The annual base salary for this position ranges from $156,600 to $261,000. This position is eligible for Pfizers Global Performance Plan with a bonus target of 20% of base salary and long-term incentive eligibility. Benefits include a 401(k) plan with Pfizer Matching Contributions, retirement savings contribution, paid vacation, holidays, personal days, caregiver/parental and medical leave, and health benefits. Salary ranges are location-based; the Tampa, FL range is $141,000 to $235,000.
