Overview Ben E. Keith Company has been a leader in fine food and premium beverage distribution for more than a century. Our Food Division is a broad‑line multi‑state distributor, and our Beverage Division operates throughout Texas as a proud distributor of Anheuser‑Busch products, craft and import beer brands, spirits, and wine. Responsibilities Manage the daily activities of the fleet shop and ensure delivery equipment is repaired efficiently, cost‑effectively, and timely while staying in compliance with Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations. Maintain DOT compliance for tractor (power unit), trailer, and related equipment, including preventive maintenance, major and minor repairs of all systems. Document and follow through all “Roadside Inspections and Out of Service” incidents, arrange for immediate repairs of out‑of‑service vehicles during roadside inspections, and leverage driver dash cameras for safety performance. Oversee driver vehicle inspection reports (DVIR) to determine that needed repairs are addressed, set priorities, and document reinstatement if repairs are not immediately made. Work with sub‑managers and lead persons to facilitate all repairs and coordinate repairs within the DFW Foods territories and shuttle locations, establish and maintain working relationships with outside repair facilities, and manage records of repairs and expenses for DOT compliance and useful life expense tracking. Operate, maintain, repair and comply within local, state and federal laws while managing budgetary constraints and improving efficiencies of spending dollars; monitor expense trends that impact budget. Develop, implement and track quantitative results of procedures and programs that promote safety and expense control, including tire maintenance, fuel saving devices, and equipment knowledge. Recommend shop personnel head count, promote a friendly open‑door work environment that enhances employee retention and performance, and recommend wage increases within established ranges. Meet or exceed minimum training and support services for all employees with shop duties, including Class A CDL, Hazmat, Lock‑out Tag‑out, OSHA, EPA, and other mandatory training recertification as needed. Qualifications Three or more years of fleet management experience. Food industry and/or manufacturing experience preferred. Knowledge of all DOT regulations. High School Education/GED required.
