Overview The Hotel Manager is a key leadership role responsible for the overall operational success of the hotel. The position holds significant influence within the Food & Beverage department, contributing to its overall performance, profitability, and guest experience. Additional this position will have direct oversight of all core departments, including Food & Beverage, Culinary, Front Office, Housekeeping, and Engineering. The ideal candidate is a hands-on leader with a strong background in luxury F&B, a passion for service, and a deep understanding of all hotel operations. This role is crucial in ensuring seamless collaboration between departments, maintaining high guest satisfaction scores, and driving profitability. Key Responsibilities Operational Leadership & Oversight: Oversee and manage the day-to-day operations of all hotel departments: Front Office, Housekeeping, Engineering, and F&B (Beverage and Culinary programs). Ensure all departments are operating efficiently, meeting established standards, and working cohesively to achieve hotel goals. Develop and implement operational policies and procedures to optimize performance and guest satisfaction. Monitor daily operations to ensure compliance with brand standards, safety regulations, and legal requirements. Team Management and Development: Lead, mentor, and motivate a diverse team of department heads and staff. Conduct regular performance reviews, provide coaching, and foster a positive and productive work environment. Oversee recruitment, training, and scheduling for all supervised departments. Guest Experience & Service Excellence: Champion a guest-centric culture, empowering staff to anticipate and exceed guest expectations. Proactively address and resolve guest concerns, ensuring a positive resolution and maintaining guest loyalty. Monitor guest feedback (e.g., surveys, online reviews) and implement corrective actions to address service deficiencies including those related to room condition, facility functionality, and overall guest journey with outsourced services. Handle escalated guest complaints and resolve issues effectively and courteously. Regularly interact with guests to gather feedback and ensure satisfaction. Financial Management & Budgeting: Collaborate with the General Manager to develop and manage departmental budgets, including a significant focus on the Engineering budget and Capex, forecasting revenue, labor, and other expenses. Monitor financial performance against budget, identify variances, and implement cost control measures without compromising quality and/or service. Analyze operational data to identify trends and opportunities for revenue generation and cost savings. Analyze financial reports and key performance indicators to make informed business decisions. F&B Oversight: Provide strategic direction for the hotel's food and beverage operations, including restaurants, bars, and banquet services Collaborate with the Executive Chef and F&B Managers to create innovative menus and ensure high-quality offerings. Conduct ongoing market analysis to align menus and offerings with current trends and seasonal demands, ensuring they are competitive and appeal to both hotel guests and the local market. Maintenance & Engineering: Work closely with the Director of Engineering to ensure the hotel's physical plant, systems, and equipment are well-maintained and in excellent working order. Oversee preventative maintenance programs and capital projects. Quality & Safety Assurance: Ensure adherence to all brand, health, safety, and sanitation standards and regulations. Conduct regular inspections of all operational areas to ensure cleanliness, functionality, and adherence to standards. Develop and implement emergency procedures and ensure staff are trained in their execution. Act as a key liaison for regulatory inspections and audits related to facility operations . Strategic Planning & Projects: Contribute to the hotel's overall strategic planning process, identifying opportunities for operational improvements and facility enhancements, and new initiatives. Lead or participate in special projects as assigned by the General Manager. Stay abreast of industry trends, best practices, and technological advancements to drive innovation within the rooms departments. Qualifications Qualifications Bachelor’s Degree in Hospitality Management, Business Administration, or a related field preferred. Minimum of 5-7 years of progressive leadership experience in hotel operations, with at least 3-5 years in a senior leadership role with a primary focus on Food & Beverage management within a full-service or upscale hotel environment. Familiarity with the unique demands of a seasonal, mountain resort destination is a plus. Skills Exceptional leadership, coaching, and team-building skills. Strong financial acumen with proven ability to manage budgets and drive profitability. Excellent communication (written and verbal), interpersonal, and presentation skills. Superior problem-solving and decision-making abilities with a focus on results. Proficiency in hotel management software (POS & PMS - e.g., Toast & OnQ) and Microsoft Office Suite. Deep understanding of hotel rooms operations, guest service principles, and industry best practices, and building systems. Demonstrated ability to consistently achieve and improve guest satisfaction scores (e.g., Medallia, TripAdvisor, NPS), F&B scores, and customer service scores. Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed. Highly organized with strong attention to detail.
