Metal Finisher

Are you meticulous, detail-oriented, and skilled with hand and power tools? We are looking for a dedicated Metal Finisher to join our Oshkosh client’s team and play a critical role in preparing and perfecting hollow metal frames. Job Location – Oshkosh

Starting Date – ASAP

Employment Term – Temp to hire

Employment Type – Full time

Work Hours (Shift) – 1st shift

Starting Pay –$21 per hour

Required Experience – At least 2 years of experience

As a Metal Finisher, you will be responsible for ensuring our metal frames are flawless and prepared for the next stage of production.

Responsibilities

• Grinding, sanding, cleaning, and polishing metal parts to correct defects and prepare surfaces for finishing, using a variety of hand and power tools.
• Selecting the appropriate abrasives and tools based on material, size, shape, and specific finishing requirements.
• Measuring and marking parts precisely to guarantee all grinding and polishing meets strict specifications and standards.
• Inspecting and verifying the quality of your finished work using measuring tools, templates, or operational testing.
• Filing, shaping, and smoothing grooved or irregular surfaces according to blueprints and templates .
• Performing minor repairs, such as hammering out bulges or bends in metal workpieces.
• Maintaining a clean, organized, and safe work area at all times.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED equivalent is required.
• While 1-2 years of related work experience is preferred , it is not strictly required. We are willing to train the right candidate with a strong work ethic and aptitude.
• Strong attention to detail and a commitment to performing work accurately and thoroughly.
• Ability to work efficiently under pressure and meet production deadlines .
• Good communication and teamwork skills .
• Physical ability to frequently lift 25-50 pounds and occasionally lift up to 75 pounds .
• Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screen.
