About the Role:

The Noon Shift PLC and Robot Maintenance Technician plays a critical role in ensuring the continuous and efficient operation of automated manufacturing equipment during the midday production cycle. This position is responsible for troubleshooting, maintaining, and repairing programmable logic controllers (PLCs) and robotic systems to minimize downtime and optimize production output. The technician will collaborate closely with production and engineering teams to implement preventive maintenance schedules and respond promptly to equipment malfunctions. By maintaining high standards of safety and quality, this role directly contributes to the overall productivity and reliability of the manufacturing process. The successful candidate will demonstrate technical expertise and proactive problem-solving skills to support the seamless operation of complex automated systems.

Minimum Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent with completion of relevant technical training in industrial automation or electrical maintenance.
• Proven experience working with PLC programming, troubleshooting, and repair in a manufacturing environment.
• Strong understanding of robotic systems, including mechanical and electrical components.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical manuals.
• Availability to work the noon shift and respond to urgent maintenance needs during this period.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Associate degree or higher in Electrical Engineering, Automation Technology, or a related field.
• Certification in PLC programming platforms such as Allen-Bradley, Siemens, or Mitsubishi.
• Experience with industrial robot brands such as FANUC, ABB, or KUKA.
• Familiarity with safety standards and regulatory compliance in manufacturing settings.
• Strong computer skills including familiarity with maintenance management software (CMMS).

Responsibilities:

• Perform routine inspections, diagnostics, and maintenance on PLCs and robotic equipment to ensure optimal functionality.
• Troubleshoot and repair electrical, mechanical, and software issues related to automated manufacturing systems during the noon shift.
• Collaborate with production supervisors and engineers to schedule and execute preventive maintenance tasks.
• Document maintenance activities, repairs, and parts usage accurately to support operational records and compliance requirements.
• Respond promptly to equipment failures or alarms to minimize production downtime and maintain safety standards.

Skills:

The required skills enable the technician to effectively diagnose and resolve complex issues with PLCs and robotic systems, ensuring minimal disruption to manufacturing operations. Proficiency in reading schematics and programming allows for precise adjustments and repairs, while mechanical aptitude supports hands-on maintenance tasks.
