Do you have project and crew management experience in Outside Plant- particularly with HFC construction? Are you seeking a long-term home to build your project management career? TekCom Resources is seeking a
field-based OSP/HFC Construction Coordinator for a direct hire role with a fast-growing telecom construction firm in the Syracuse, NY market!
Our client's project in this area will consist of upgrading HFC and fiber equipment in the Syracuse and surrounding area to increase internet speed to rural and urban areas.
In this role, you will be responsible for oversight of several OSP HFC Construction projects; this will include crew oversight, QC on work performed, pre-project prep work and some post-project wrap-up work.
Visiting field sites to observe work being performed is an essential element of this role. Work is being performed in and around the Syracuse, NY area, and your work will not take you more than 1-2 hours outside of town.
While not required, experience with HFC construction is HIGHLY valuable for this role!Work will be supporting a major, nationally-active broadband service provider to upgrade their network in rural and urban areas. Work will be done overnight during the maintenance window!
Additional Responsibilities: - Perform quality control on work being performed and ensure crew compliance with company standards.
- Work with other members of the team on ensuring adherence to progress schedule, occasionally passing information along to management or clients.
- Tracking a range of administrative concerns and functions: contractor invoicing, equipment and supplies availability, progress documentation, etc.
- Make sure crews are following internal and external safety protocols while performing construction work.
- Communicate with other team members and departments in seeing projects through to completion.
What our client would love to see from candidates: - 1-3 years of experience in fiber/coax construction and previous experience performing OSP construction. At least 6 months of specific OSP construction experience is necessary!
- Experience assisting with or managing OSP project tracking, financials, both internal and contracted crews, and other functions.
- Experience and comfort communicating with clients and management regarding progress milestones.
- A willingness to visit sites in and around market five days per week - this will not be a remote role.
