What you will do:

The Physical Security Manager will be responsible for overseeing SECU’s physical security program. They will manage the front desk staff and physical security vendors. They will provide physical safety-related training and appropriate risk awareness communications to SECU employees. They will also be the primary administrator of physical safety and security related systems.

A day in your life might include:
• Provide supervision and direction to the physical security staff
• Researches and collaborates internally and externally to help develop strategic goals for department
• Manages physical security vendor relationships and contracts
• Responsible for the management and operation of the physical security access control systems such as badges, access readers, alarm panels, and entry keys
• Collaborates with physical security specialists at partner credit unions
• Provides support for the Fraud Prevention Manager as needed
• Performs administrative duties relevant to role
• Creates and maintains annual facility risk evaluations
• Responsible for the physical security needs for all SECU facilities

Additional Responsibilities may include:
• Coordinates Business Continuity needs for Physical Security Department
• Visits all SECU financial center locations at least annually
• Conducts security surveys, reviews, and inspections
• Prepares and reviews with upper management physical security risk assessments
• Assists with Emergency Response Program

What we need from you:

Education Requirements
• Bachelor’s degree in business, criminal Justice, security or similar field or commensurate experience preferred.

Experience Requirements

  • 5+ years of work experience in security, law enforcement, or related field. 2 years of experience supervising staff.
  • Must be organized and detailed in the performance of all required tasks.
  • Must possess the ability to handle multiple tasks and priorities simultaneously.
  • Must be able to read reports, understand legal documents, compose procedures and instruction guides and prepare performance evaluations
  • Takes personal responsibility for decisions, actions, failures and overall deliverables
  • Utilizes oral and written communication to enhance relationships across the organization
  • Relates comfortably with people across levels, functions, culture, and geography
  • Possesses a clear understanding of strengths, limitations, emotions, beliefs, and motivations of self and others
  • Maintains composure and effectiveness when experiencing major changes in work tasks or the work environment
  • Adjusts effectively to work within new work structures, processes, requirements, or cultures
  • Demonstrates an understanding of SECU’s culture, core values, mission and strategic priorities as it relates to one’s work and overall performance
  • Microsoft Office (to include Outlook, Word, Excel)
  • Strong leadership skills

Physical Requirements:

• Must be able to remain in a stationary position, often standing or sitting for prolonged periods
• Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds

Compensation Information: Offers will be commensurate with experience and education. This is a Pay Grade I with a salary range of $106,200 to $170,000. However, we will be hiring within the first quartile of the range, which is $110k/yr - $125k/yr.
