Job Description

Powder Coat Painter Lead/Technician

We are seeking an experienced Powder Coat Painter Lead/Technician to take full ownership of the powder coating process, with a strong focus on loading efficiency and high-quality paint application. This hands-on role includes preparing and hanging parts to maximize line density, applying powder coating in accordance with Technical Data Sheets (TDS), and ensuring a consistent, high-quality finish through inspection and touch-up as needed.

The ideal candidate will have deep technical knowledge of powder coating systems, a strong eye for detail, and the ability to lead by example. You will be responsible for ensuring that all painted parts meet or exceed quality standards while driving continuous improvement in the process.

In addition to painting responsibilities, this role supports the Paint Line Supervisor in coordinating daily operations, minimizing downtime, and maintaining a clean, safe, and organized work environment.

Physical Demands

  • Performing physical activities that require considerable use of your arms, hands, fingers, legs and moving your whole body, such as lifting, balancing, walking, stooping, handling of materials, and operating machinery
  • Carrying & lifting 10 - 75 Pounds frequently
  • Ability to endure hours exposed to heat
  • Ability to move and transfer products with an overhead crane
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust and focus
  • Must be able to pass a general respirator medical evaluation

  • Knowledge of safety protocols and procedures related to powder coating operations
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot equipment issues
  • Demonstrate ability to work independently without daily supervision
  • Must be able to work M-TH, 5:30am-4:00pm. To meet the needs of the customer's occasional overtime may be required. The company will try and give as much notice as possible.

Education and Experience

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent preferred
  • Additional training or certification in powder coating technology or related field preferred
  • Minimum of 5 years' experience in powder coating painting
  • Good knowledge of mechanics and repair of painting equipment
  • Knowledge wash and pretreatments
