Job Overview As a
Remote Translator , you will play a critical role in translating and localizing our marketing, product, and educational materials for audiences in various language markets. You’ll help us effectively communicate the importance of renewable energy by ensuring our message is accurately and culturally relevant for each language group.
This is a
remote position , offering flexibility to work from anywhere while making a meaningful impact in the renewable energy sector.
Key Responsibilities - Translate materials: Convert written content (such as marketing materials, reports, blogs, product documentation, and educational content) from English to another language, ensuring meaning, tone, and context are accurately conveyed.
- Cultural adaptation: Adapt translations to ensure they are culturally relevant and appropriate for the target audience, taking into account local customs, idioms, and nuances.
- Proofreading and editing: Review and refine translations for accuracy, spelling, grammar, and style consistency. Ensure final deliverables are polished and meet the company’s high standards.
- Collaboration: Work closely with the content, marketing, and product teams to ensure translations align with the company's messaging, voice, and branding.
- Maintain consistency: Follow the company’s style guide to maintain consistent terminology, language tone, and technical terms across all translated materials.
- Stay updated: Keep up with language trends, industry terminology, and renewable energy vocabulary to ensure translations remain current and relevant.
- Confidentiality: Handle sensitive documents and information with the utmost professionalism and confidentiality.
What We’re Looking For - Fluency in English and at least one other language: Strong command of both written and spoken English is essential. Fluency in additional languages (e.g., Spanish, French, German, Chinese, etc.) is required.
- Proven translation experience: Prior experience as a translator or in a language-related role (preferably in a professional or corporate setting). Experience in technical translations (e.g., renewable energy, sustainability, etc.) is a plus.
- Attention to detail: A keen eye for detail, especially in ensuring that nuances, tone, and message accuracy are maintained throughout translations.
- Strong communication skills: Clear and concise communication, both in the source and target languages, is critical.
- Cultural sensitivity: Understanding of cultural nuances and the ability to adapt translations to different audiences, regions, and languages.
- Proficiency with translation tools: Familiarity with CAT tools (e.g., SDL Trados, MemoQ) and other productivity tools (Google Docs, MS Word, etc.).
- Time management: Ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects with tight deadlines in a fast-paced, remote work environment.
Preferred Qualifications - Experience in renewable energy or sustainability: A passion for environmental causes or prior experience in the renewable energy sector is a plus, as it will help you understand industry-specific terminology.
- Localization experience: Experience adapting content for different cultural markets, not just literal translation.
- Certifications: Translation or interpretation certifications (e.g., ATA-certified translator) are desirable but not mandatory.
