Safety Coordinator- Hourly role at LSG Sky Chefs

Role Purpose Statement

The Safety Coordinator oversees the Ramp and Employee Safety Program at the CSC. This role is responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining safety policies and procedures to ensure a secure and compliant work environment for all employees. Key responsibilities include designing ergonomic workspaces, minimizing workplace injuries, inspecting equipment and vehicles for safety compliance, and ensuring adherence to state and federal regulations.

Main Accountabilities

  • Serve as the Process Owner for Ramp and Employee Safety initiatives.
  • Lead and facilitate all Safety Committee functions and meetings.
  • Coordinate and support insurance and regulatory safety inspections.
  • Partner with employees and leadership to ensure consistent adherence to Safety Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
  • Conduct regular safety and health inspections across all departments.
  • Perform monthly facility audits to identify and mitigate risks.
  • Ensure delivery of all required safety and compliance training for employees.
  • Investigate accidents and injuries and document findings thoroughly.
  • Recommend and implement preventive measures to address unsafe conditions, materials, or equipment.
  • Deliver engaging and informative safety training sessions for staff.

Knowledge, Skills and Experience

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • 2-3 years of experience in employee safety or related field.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Familiarity with DOT safety regulations and OSHA compliance standards is a plus.
  • Strong analytical, verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and organizational abilities.
  • Comfortable working in a fast?paced and dynamic environment.
  • Flexibility to work varied shifts, including AM/PM and weekends.
