Overview Salesforce Consultant at Effectual. This role is part of the Public Sector Program Management team and focuses on delivering projects with exceptional customer satisfaction and technical excellence. The position involves configuring Salesforce, contributing to entry-level design, performing functional testing, and managing requirements tied to user stories on a 5-year contract. Responsibilities Configure Salesforce platform components using declarative tools (Flows, Process Builder, Validation Rules, Lightning App Builder) to meet functional release requirements Assist with entry-level solution design by crafting user stories, initial wireframes, data models, and automation logic; validate with architects for alignment and scalability Collaborate with business analysts and product owners to review, refine, and clarify requirements to ensure stories are technically feasible, complete, and testable Conduct functional testing of configurations to validate business rules, user flows, and acceptance criteria before QA or deployment Bridge between Solution Architect and Developer, translating architectural guidance into actionable configuration tasks and flagging constraints early Participate in daily stand-ups, sprint planning, backlog grooming, and review meetings to ensure delivery alignment Track configuration progress against story points and timelines to maintain project velocity and identify bottlenecks Support documentation of configuration decisions and maintain traceability for audit and compliance in the public sector, including Evergreen Smoke Tests and End-to-End Test Scripts Qualifications Minimum Education: Bachelor’s degree in a related discipline AND Minimum Experience: 10 years including cloud professional certification OR 10 years of on-the-job experience US citizenship required 5-10+ years of experience in Salesforce solution delivery (configuration, consulting, implementation) across complex environments Deep Salesforce technical knowledge with ability to understand government-specific needs and compliance requirements Salesforce Administrator or Advanced Administrator, Salesforce Platform App Builder, AWS Certified Solutions Architect or other relevant certifications Proven experience supporting public sector or government contracting clients with knowledge of compliance frameworks and federal IT standards Expert-level proficiency in Salesforce declarative tools (Flows, Lightning App Builder, Validation Rules, Approval Processes, custom metadata) Strong understanding of SDLC, backlog management, sprint execution, and story lifecycle Ability to translate complex business requirements into scalable, secure Salesforce solutions Strong interpersonal and communication skills bridging business and technical teams Experience with AWS in a solution engineering capacity and cloud architecture understanding Experience coordinating with stakeholders (cloud vendors, system owners, technical teams) to deliver cloud-based solutions Attention to detail and strong organizational skills Continuous learning mindset and keeping up-to-date with industry trends Ability to work in Eastern Standard Time Zone hours Nice-to-Have Skills and Experience Active Clearance or Public Trust (DOJ preferred) Salesforce certifications: Application Architect or System Architect Experience with Salesforce Government Cloud (GovCloud) or FedRAMP-compliant environments Familiarity with FISMA, NIST 800-53, and ATO processes Experience supporting large-scale Salesforce migrations or legacy modernizations in government agencies DevSecOps exposure (Jira, Copado, Git, CI/CD pipelines for Salesforce) Previous engagement with government clients (e.g., DHS, VA, HHS, DoD, state/local agencies) Experience in SAFe, Scrum, or hybrid agile delivery models in public sector Understanding of Section 508 accessibility best practices Work Environment The work is typically performed in an office environment.
