SEO Director - Lead the Digital Mission at Renaissance Recovery

Location: Huntington Beach, CA | Department: Marketing | Onsite/Full-Time

What You'll Do

As the SEO Director, you'll be responsible for owning and scaling our SEO efforts with a specific focus on the behavioral health, substance abuse, and mental health verticals. You'll lead a team and collaborate with content, design, and development to build and execute high-impact strategies that directly help people discover the life-saving services we offer.

• Develop and execute comprehensive SEO strategies to drive organic growth in a highly competitive healthcare space
• Lead keyword research and clustering efforts, prioritizing intent-driven queries specific to addiction treatment and mental health
• Create and oversee detailed content briefs using NLP-optimized structures tailored for medical and behavioral health SEO
• Optimize on-page, off-page, and technical elements to ensure strong domain authority and SERP performance
• Conduct regular site audits, address crawl and indexing issues, and improve Core Web Vitals
• Leverage AI/ML tools to scale content ideation, SEO audits, and competitive gap analysis
• Build and manage a backlink acquisition strategy with a focus on credibility and compliance
• Monitor and report SEO KPIs using tools like Google Search Console, GA4, SEMrush, Ahrefs, and others
• Stay ahead of algorithm changes, healthcare-specific search trends, and Google E-E-A-T updates
• Collaborate cross-functionally with content, clinical, and executive teams to align strategy with mission

What You Bring

• Minimum 3 years of hands-on SEO experience in the behavioral health, addiction treatment, or mental health sectors - required
• Proven success scaling SEO in a high-stakes, compliance-sensitive environment
• Deep understanding of ranking factors, structured data, and YMYL content standards
• Strong command of AI-powered SEO tools (Surfer SEO, Clearscope, MarketMuse, Frase, etc.)
• Experience managing or mentoring SEO/content team members
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to align SEO with business objectives
