POSITION OVERVIEW
The Software Developer will manage and oversee a range of tasks, with a focus on leading small to medium-sized projects and mentoring junior developers. This position requires a candidate with a strong understanding of React and Ruby on Rails, the ability to work independently, and a commitment to delivering high-quality, scalable solutions. The ideal candidate will possess strong communication skills and be adept at collaborating with team members and addressing user needs directly.
WHAT YOU’LL DO
• Lead the design, development, and deployment of small to medium-sized features and projects using React and Rails.
• Perform in-depth code reviews, ensuring adherence to best practices, coding standards, and system design principles.
• Mentor junior developers by providing guidance on coding techniques, tools, and problem-solving approaches.
• Implement automated testing strategies to maintain high-quality code and reduce regressions.
• Continuously evaluate and improve development workflows, tools, and processes for the team.
• Respond to and resolve user-reported issues directly, ensuring timely fixes and a high-quality experience for our users.
ABOUT YOU
• At least 3 years of professional experience in software development, with expertise in React and Ruby on Rails.
• Proven ability to design, implement, and maintain scalable, maintainable, and well-tested software solutions.
• Experience leading small to medium-sized projects and mentoring other developers.
• Strong problem-solving skills and a user-focused mindset, with the ability to troubleshoot and resolve issues effectively.
• Excellent communication skills and a commitment to continuous learning and process improvement.
Desired Skills
• Deep understanding of React and Ruby on Rails, including component-based design and API development.
• Strong knowledge of caching strategies and their implementation to improve application performance.
• Strong knowledge of automated testing frameworks and best practices for maintaining high-quality code.
• Familiarity with software lifecycle management, including version control, CI/CD pipelines, and deployment processes.
• Ability to balance technical debt with feature delivery, ensuring long-term maintainability.
