Job Description

Vālenz ® Health is the platform to simplify healthcare – the destination for employers, payers, providers and members to reduce costs, improve quality, and elevate the healthcare experience. The Valenz mindset and culture of innovation combine to create a distinctly different approach to an inefficient, uninspired health system. With fully integrated solutions, Valenz engages early and often to execute across the entire patient journey – from care navigation and management to payment integrity, plan performance and provider verification. With a 99% client retention rate, we elevate expectations to a new level of efficiency, effectiveness and transparency where smarter, better, faster healthcare is possible.

About This Opportunity: As a Software Developer I, you’ll contribute to building and supporting the software that powers our Valenz Bluebook infrastructure and website. Working closely with senior developers, you’ll translate business requirements into functional, high-quality code that supports our operations and customer solutions. This is an opportunity to grow your technical expertise within a collaborative, cloud-based environment and make a meaningful impact on the technology behind our mission.

Things You’ll Do Here :
  • Execute assigned development tasks with accuracy and timeliness, translating business and technical requirements into functional, maintainable code.
  • Develop a strong understanding of Valenz Bluebook’s development frameworks, coding standards, and best practices while continuously improving programming and problem-solving skills.
  • Collaborate with senior team members to learn system architecture, coding patterns, and design principles that support scalable, cloud-based solutions.
  • Participate in troubleshooting and resolving urgent customer issues by analyzing system behavior, identifying root causes, and implementing effective solutions.
  • Apply logical reasoning and creative thinking to approach challenges and develop innovative solutions to complex technical problems.
  • Contribute actively in team meetings, daily huddles, and code reviews by sharing progress updates, offering feedback, and providing accurate time estimates for assigned work.
  • Gain hands-on experience in developing and supporting web applications and web API services within a modern cloud-based architecture.
  • Embrace opportunities for mentorship and feedback to build technical expertise and business knowledge relevant to Valenz Bluebook’s mission and products.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Reasonable accommodation may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform essential duties.

What You’ll Bring to the Team :
  • 1+ year of experience working within the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC), with a focus on translating business requirements into functional, high-quality code.
  • Experience/Proficiency in:
    • Relational database querying and Data Definition Language (DDL) using SQL Server.
    • Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) principles, preferably with C#.
    • Source control systems such as Git for version management and collaboration.
    • Modern JavaScript frameworks such as Angular, React, or Vue.js.
    • JavaScript and TypeScript for client-side development.
    • HTML and CSS for web application front-end design.
A plus if you have:
  • Hands-on experience in software development using the .NET framework or similar technologies.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field, or completion of a technical bootcamp/certification in software development.
Where You’ll Work: This is a fully remote position, and we’ll provide all the necessary equipment!
  • Work Environment: You’ll need a quiet workspace that is free from distractions.
  • Technology: Reliable internet connection—if you can use streaming services, you’re good to go!
  • Security: Adherence to company security protocols, including the use of VPNs, secure passwords, and company-approved devices/software.
  • Location: You must be US based, in a location where you can work effectively and comply with company policies such as HIPAA.
