Job Title: Surgery Scheduler

Location: Irvine, CA 92618

Pay Rate: $40/hr

Start Date: 12/22/2025

Duration: 13 weeks

Shift: 5x8 Days (8:00 AM 4:30 PM) Onsite

Role Summary

Surgery Scheduler responsible for scheduling and coordinating inpatient & outpatient surgical procedures, pre-op appointments, required clearances, and communication with patients and care teams. Works fully onsite.

Key Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.

• 2+ years medical environment experience (medical office experience preferred).

• EPIC experience required.

• Strong data entry skills, able to work with minimal supervision, high productivity.

• Medical terminology required.

• Basic understanding of insurance types; pre-auth knowledge preferred.

• Positive, professional communication; ability to handle interruptions and deadlines.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with surgery pre-authorizations.

• Knowledge of case lengths for proper OR scheduling.

• Familiar with insurance processes.

Job Responsibilities (Simplified)

1. Schedule and coordinate surgery cases and related pre-op appointments.

2. Communicate with OR staff, patients, physicians, and departments.

3. Ensure pre-op tests, labs, documentation, and authorizations are completed on time.

4. Handle patient calls for pre-/post-operative questions.

5. Adjust schedules when cancellations occur; help fill open OR block times.

6. Coordinate with clinic schedulers, admitting, and pre-op departments.

7. Maintain confidentiality and follow Department policies.

8. Perform additional administrative tasks as needed.

Work Environment

• Onsite in hospital/outpatient atmosphere.

• Frequent interruptions; handling confidential information.

• Direct patient and family interactions.

• Occasional pressure from high call volume, scheduling deadlines, or shift coverage.

Travel Compliance (Tier 2)
