Job Description\n

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Telemetry position on a night shift, requiring an active AZ or compact RN license and strong telemetry skills.

\n \n Responsibilities\n

• Work in a 48-bed acute care Med/Surg Telemetry unit
• Patient population includes COVID, respiratory, GI, diabetic, telemetry, TIA, CVA, and general, orthopedic and spinal surgical cases
• Nurse-to-patient ratio is 1:5
• 12-hour night shifts with every other weekend requirement
• Unit uses Cerner EMR
• RN is first to float and may float to East Campus or PCU if qualified
• Unit uses remote telemetry monitoring; RNs must interpret and sign strips once per shift
• Uses equipment such as BiPAP, CPAP, high flow oxygen, and provides some breathing treatments
• RNs are responsible for interpreting rhythm strips and ensuring documentation every shift
• Testing requirements include passing the Relias Dysrhythmia exam and a sterile technique skills assessment
• One day of unit-specific orientation is provided
• Holiday coverage required for Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year's (combination of days and evenings as assigned)
• RN is required to wear navy blue scrubs
• No call or standby required
• Candidates may not have been directly employed (full-time, part-time, or PRN) by any CommonSpirit-affiliated facility in the past year
• Must be able to float to other units or campuses as needed

\n \n Requirements\n

• Active AZ or compact RN license required at time of consideration; pending licenses not accepted
• Minimum 2 years of recent Med/Surg Telemetry RN experience
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications required; pending certifications not accepted
• Ability to read and interpret basic telemetry strips required
• Experience caring for general and orthopedic surgical patients, CVA, and TIA preferred
• Cerner EMR experience strongly recommended due to limited orientation
• Must provide a copy of driver's license for consideration
• Must submit two professional references: one recent supervisor (last 12 months), one supervisor or peer (last 3 years), including dates and rehire eligibility
