Shift Times: 6:45 AM – 7:15 PM / 6:45 PM – 7:15 AM (must clock out for lunch).
Self-scheduling allowed; up to 4 requested days off per 4-week period (blocks not guaranteed).
Weekend Requirement: 4 weekend shifts per 4-week schedule.
Holiday Requirement: 2 major holidays (only the day, not the eve, for Christmas).
No on-call requirement.
Minimum 2 years of ICU experience in a Trauma Level I or II facility (recent).
Epic EMR proficiency required and must be recent.
Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS required.
Must comply with 100-mile radius rule.
Job Summary:\nSeeking an experienced ICU Registered Nurse for a 42-bed Medical-Surgical ICU unit. This role requires advanced critical care skills, including titration of multiple drips and care for complex cardiac and trauma patients. \n\n\n\nResponsibilities:\n\nProvide direct patient care for critically ill adults, maintaining nurse-to-patient ratios of 1:1 or 1:2 (1:3 only if no vents/drips).\n\nManage and titrate a wide range of critical care infusions including vasopressors, inotropes, antiarrhythmics, sedatives, and anticoagulants.\n\nCare for patients with complex diagnoses such as cardiac (open heart, balloon pump, impella), trauma, tPA administration, sepsis, respiratory failure, and DKA.\n\nCollaborate with intensivists, physicians, RTs, and interdisciplinary teams to optimize patient outcomes.\n\nFloat as needed to other units (maximum of 4 patients when floated).\n\nDocument all care accurately in Epic EMR.\n\nRequirements:\n\nActive RN license.\n\n\n\nNo more than 5 days of RTO, and start date cannot be adjusted.\n\nNo 48-hour guarantees or blocked scheduling.\n\nUnit Details:\n\nBeds: 42\n\nIntensivist coverage: 24/7 (2 MDs + 1 NP during the day; 1 MD + 1 NP at night).\n\nCharge Nurse: Free on both shifts (responds to codes and rapid responses).\n\nPatient Care Assistants: Ratio 1:10; assist with EKGs, glucose checks, procedures, I/Os, ADLs, and lab draws.\n\nRespiratory Therapy: In-unit 24/7; manages vents, CPAP, BiPAP, high-flow, intubations, and ABGs.\n\nMonitoring: Centralized and room-based tele monitoring by Unit Support Person.\n\nScheduling & Shifts:\n\nShift Times: 6:45 AM – 7:15 PM / 6:45 PM – 7:15 AM (must clock out for lunch).\n\nSelf-scheduling allowed; up to 4 requested days off per 4-week period (blocks not guaranteed).\n\nWeekend Requirement: 4 weekend shifts per 4-week schedule.\n\nHoliday Requirement: 2 major holidays (only the day, not the eve, for Christmas).\n\nNo on-call requirement.\n\n\n\n
