\nRegistered Nurse - PCU
\n\nJob Details:
\n• Work 3x12 hour night shifts from 6:45 PM to 7:15 AM
\n• 13-week assignment duration
\n• Weekend requirement: Either every other weekend or 6 weekend shifts in a 6-week schedule
\n• Patient ratio of 1:5 for PCU
\n• 32 hours of orientation required
\n• Must have 1+ years of experience
\n• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS
\n• Epic charting system experience required
\n• Must be comfortable with telemetry, PCU/stepdown care, dysrhythmia interpretation and management
\n• Experience with blood product administration, central and peripheral line care required
\n• Must manage cardiac drips without titration, oxygen administration, and non-invasive airway management
\n• Float occasionally to other PCU or medical-surgical units as needed
\n• Care for adult and geriatric patients specializing in cardiothoracic and vascular surgery conditions
\n• Work with specialized equipment including chest tubes, IV drips, trachs, PICC lines, LVADs
\n• Handle chronic trach patients in 2 vent-capable beds
\n• Required to work at least 1 holiday per assignment (2 holidays during winter season)
\n• Christmas time off requests cannot be approved

\nThis healthcare facility operates a 25-bed Progressive Care Unit that serves as the stepdown unit for the Open Heart/Thoracic ICU. The unit specializes in caring for cardiothoracic and vascular surgery patients with emphasis on post-operative cardiothoracic care. The facility maintains trauma residents and mid-level providers in-house and offers comprehensive interdisciplinary support including IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, pharmacy, and rapid response teams. The unit features advanced monitoring capabilities with remote telemetry and specialized equipment to handle complex cardiac patients.
