The Anderson Island Film Festival Presents:

The Seeds of Vandana Shiva

March 11, 2023 – 6:30 pm

Admission – $10

Are you ready to be inspired and empowered? The Anderson Island Film Festival is gearing up for a special celebration of International Women’s Day, and you won’t want to miss it. On Saturday, March 11th at 6:30 pm, we are thrilled to present a special screening of The Seeds of Vandana Shiva, a feature-length documentary that follows the incredible journey of a fearless eco-activist and agroecologist, Vandana Shiva.

Vandana Shiva has become the world’s leading opponent of the powerful Monsanto corporation, and her efforts have not gone unnoticed. Renowned primatologist and environmentalist, Jane Goodall, has praised her work, stating that anyone who cares about the future of our planet should be grateful to her.

Author, women’s justice activist, and local islander resident, Marg Schuler, will be our guest speaker to kick off the festivities.

Three inspiring books that capture the essence of what it means to be a strong and empowered woman, donated by islander Eileen Hadden, will be raffled off. Raffle tickets are just $1 each, or six for $5. Who knows, you may just be the lucky winner of these thought-provoking and inspiring books!

And that’s not all! We are also giving away packets of seeds donated by Donna Manus and the Island Garden Club, which we can’t wait to share with you. This is the perfect opportunity to kick off your own eco-friendly journey and start making a difference in the world.

Thank you to our sponsors: Lara Behnert, Eileen Hadden, Glenn and Beula Robb, and John Ullis.

So, mark your calendar and join us at the Anderson Island Historic Society Building on March 11th at 6:30 pm for a night that promises to be both informative and inspiring. We can’t wait to see you there!
