Overview The Database Manager/Administrator serves as a Database Administrator for the Data Center/application development/sustainment team for the Defense Language Institute Foreign Language Center (DLIFLC) Academic Network Labor Contract to administer, maintain, secure, and accredit the DLIFLC Academic Network which provides the IT environment for 100% of the DLIFLC teaching and instructing for all students, staff, faculty, and guests in a learning environment at the unclassified level. Responsibilities Responsibilities include creating, maintaining, and updating databases for existing and newly developed applications Ensures security requirements are implemented to ensure data protection, at rest and in transit. The duties include assessment of customer needs and implementation of improved configurations for customer needs. The duties include planning, installation, maintenance during or after-work hours, troubleshooting, and managing all Database Developer servers and applications. Qualifications BA/BS from an accredited college or university with a minimum of 5+ years experience or substitute with AA/AS with 7+ years experience with any one of the following IAT Level II (CySA+, Security+, CND, or SSCP) Certification and CE/OS Certification; 3 years' experience in database administration to include 2 years of experience in testing applications and describing issues found in testing; expertise in specific database technologies like Oracle, SQL Server, MySQL, PostgreSQL; Proficiency in writing complex SQL queries for data manipulation and retrieval; Understanding of data modeling concepts to design efficient database structures; knowledge of operating systems and system administration practices. Secret Clearance Salary Range: $130,000 - $145,000 The above salary range represents a general guideline. Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and/or discretionary bonuses in addition to base pay.
