Auburn, CA, 2303 Lindbergh Street, Auburn, CA 95602, USA This position is primarily responsible for performing routine activities on moderately complex to complex laboratory instrumentation. Assignments are completed by independently following technical documents associated with review, QC testing and detailed reporting of new and internal use instruments in an in‑house factory service center. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Perform quality control tasks of new instruments on arrival. Support the logistics associated with new, loaner, demo and trade show instruments, including set‑up, review, QC, pack‑up and physical movement to and from the warehouse. Complete comprehensive written service reports for assigned activities. Move new large instruments in and out of the service center and crates/uncrates instruments. Manage own spare parts inventory including ordering, receiving, counting, reconciling and merchandising. Support Technician I class employees in the completion of their work. Requirements High School Diploma Required; a minimum of 2 years' work experience in a technical, mechanical or highly detail‑oriented function. Knowledge Must have knowledge of and be comfortable working with potentially bio‑hazardous materials. Skills Strong written and verbal communication skills Strong PC and use of PC applications Preferred Continuing education in a technical or mechanical discipline. Strong understanding of technical protocols, basic electronic test equipment and mechanical skills. Work Environment The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. This job is performed in a temperature‑controlled facility without exposure to extreme hot or cold temperatures. Generally, this job is performed in a sanitized laboratory setting and routinely uses standard medical and research equipment such as centrifuges, biosafety cabinets, microscopes, incubators, pipettes and computers. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to blood, viruses, bacteria, body fluids and other tissues. Employees entering and leaving the laboratory must wear appropriate clothing and protective equipment. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. Salary Range The hiring range for this position is expected to fall between $41,500 and $48,800 per year, reflecting the range candidates can reasonably expect to be considered for at the time of offer, based on factors such as experience, internal equity, and qualifications.
