American Traveler is seeking an RN for an Emergency Department position with a NM or compact license and TNCC certification required.

\n \n Responsibilities\n
  • Position is in a Level I Trauma, teaching, and short-term acute care hospital emergency department
  • Handles both adult and pediatric emergency patients and ED admit holds
  • Nurse-to-patient ratio is 1:5
  • Increased number of ED admit holding patients is expected
  • Work schedule includes 12-hour night shifts, weekends as needed, and shift options of 36 or 48 hours per week
  • Floating to adult Progressive Care Units (PCUs) is expected; floating to Pediatric ED is optional and possible floating to ED Holding and Trauma based on staffing
  • Uses Cerner charting system
  • Scrub color is black, and scrubs are not provided
  • Primary responsibilities include emergency care, medication administration (including IVs), and documentation of clinical findings
  • First-time travelers are accepted if meeting the experience requirements
  • Weekend shifts will be assigned as needed, including Friday, Saturday, and Sunday nights
  • Personal transportation is required due to facility location
  • Travelers may work up to 12 consecutive months before requiring a break
  • RTO over 7 days requires approval; no RTO permitted during the first or last week of contract
  • COVID-19 testing and compliance tasks must be completed per facility guidelines
  • Mandatory compliance modules and orientation are required upon start
  • Preceptor pay is not offered for this facility

  • Active NM or compact RN license (pending license accepted at time of consideration)
  • Current ACLS, BLS, PALS, and TNCC certifications required at the time of consideration
  • NIHSS certification can be obtained before compliance due date
  • Minimum of 2 years of Emergency Department experience required; candidates with Level I Trauma and travel experience strongly preferred
  • No local candidates within 75 miles of the facility
  • COVID-19 vaccination required, with exemptions allowed for approved medical or religious reasons
  • Driver’s license or a written transportation plan is required
  • No RQI certifications accepted
